정관사와 무관사의 선택

1. 관사를 사용하지 못 할 때:

1.2.3. 추상명사 Love, Liberty, Literature, Nature, Space, Society
1.3. 기타
1.3.1. 쇠시형제들 Oxygen, Hydrogen, Nitrogen
1.3.2. 행성 Venus, Mars, Mercurry

2.3. 한정적 표현
2.3.1. 유일무이 the moon, the sun, the world, the universe,
2.3.2. 서수 앞, 최상급 앞 the first world war, the second page, the funiest movie, the smatest boy
2.4. 시간,사물의 부위
2.4.1. 시간의 부위 the morning, the after noon, the evening, at night, the past, the present, the beginning, the middle, the end
2.4.2. 사물의 부위 the front, the center, the back, the top, the bottom
2.5. of로 연결된 이름
2.5.1. 국가명 the united states of America,

3. 주의사항
3.1. 바다에 the 사용되고 바다와 연결된 강에도 the가 사용된다. 그러나 바다와 연결되지 않은 호수에는 the가 사용되지 않는다. 복수의 호수의 경우는 너무 넓어서 바다라고 착각하고 the를 사용한다.
3.2. 유일한 존재가 모두 the가 사용되는 것은 아니다.
Venus, Mars등 혹성은 유일하다. the가 사용되지 않느다.
3.3. all / most any/ some/ one + of ( 소유격, the/ 대명사) 모두 가능
